When participants sign on to be a part of a reality TV show, they sign contracts and are then bound by the terms of the contract. If the participants violate the terms of the contract, then they risk being kicked off of the show. This is what binds the participant. However, there are laws and regulations which govern reality TV shows. This may be hard to believe since many reality TV shows seem cutthroat, but contestants are aware of the type of TV show they are taking part in and they agree to such treatment in their contracts because that is what makes the show interesting.
The FCC regulates what we see on TV, but the shows are prohibited from rigging of any kind, exploiting children, and other such things as nudity and language that are not censored. Those are your standard FCC regulations. However, there have been statements that have claimed that the show Survivor is not subject to game show regulations set forth by the FCC.

I turned on the tv early last night and then went into the kitchen and couldn’t see the screen but I heard a voice that I remembered always sent chills down my spine. In other words, sensationalism was winning out over positive broadcasting. I am not saying stories of such notorious characters should not be mentioned or remembered. It is important to remember the Holocaust. It is important to remember Hilter; and for obvious reasons. It serves the educational process. Media can have a powerful effect on teaching a government, a citizenry, an entire nation on how not to repeat the errors of the past.
It actually takes a little bit of work to get on the list of participants for the show Survivor. First of all, the show announces that it is accepting applications that can be requested through the website and they usually request a photo and a three minute video be mailed in that introduces you to the producers. If they like you, they will call you in for a Hollywood interview, but don’t expect them to pay your travel expenses. That comes later if you make it to the semi-finals.
The survivor application that is required for the show is quite extensive and the questions that are asked are very probing. No one knows exactly what it is the producers are looking for. If you look at past shows, you will see that the people are very different from one another, which makes sense. If everyone were exactly the same, then the show would not be the least bit interesting.

Their concert audience is as likely to be comprised of entire rows of young women in their early teens and twenties as it is to include middle age couples and entire families complete with pre-teen girls dressed like their musical idols and singing every Dixie Chicks’ song word for word.
The Dixie Chicks are a country/rock music trio from the United States comprising Emily Robison, Martie Maguire and Natalie Maines. They are the highest-selling female band in any musical genre, having sold 36 million albums as of June 2006.
The Dixie Chicks was founded by the sisters Martie and Emily Erwin along with Laura Lynch and Robin Lynn Macy. The Erwin sisters have since married and changed their names to Martie Maguire and Emily Robison, respectively. The Erwin sisters provided the instrumental firepower for the band while Lynch and Macy were the lead singers. Her song ‘The Outside’ was one of the first song she wrote (she was twelve) and she felt like a complete outcast a school. She wrote the song ‘A Place in this World’ when she was thirteen and had just moved to Nashville. She said that she knew where she wanted to be she just didn’t know how to get there, and through the album, she had found that place.
